![It isn't easy.
In fact carving out time for myself, for my own practices has been REALLY hard for me for a long time.
I do okay for a bit and then something happens to throw off my rhythm and it is a struggle to find the space again.
The past year my self practices have been almost non-existent. That is a story for another day...
I am leaning into what feels hard around creating time and space for myself. Looking at the beliefs and old patterns.
The "work first" belief or the "I will have time after I finish [fill in with any and every task on my never ending list]".
My people pleasing parts really want to make sure everything else is done before they will calm enough to give space for play, fun, creativity, even taking care of myself.
But I am trying this a different way. I am holding this time and space as sacred. Not to be interrupted by ANYTHING.
In the process I am witnessing what feels hard, what parts need tending or care when the resistance to take care of myself first shows up.
The practice is to just show up. No rules about what that looks like or what requirements about what has to be done.
Just show up and work with what is present in that moment. Do what feels good for my body and soul in that moment.
In the process I know I am teaching my nervous system something new and I am reworking the messages and beliefs about taking care of myself.
I have been frustrated with this because I worked with this part and belief SO much a few years ago. But this is a new layer, there is something ready to breakthrough. I can feel it.
This is what Embodiment looks like for me in this season.
